Biography

Mustafah Abdulaziz was born 1986 in New York City as the second of six children and grew up in New York and the mountains of Pennsylvania. A chance encounter at 17 with "In The American West" and the idea of visually transporting a viewer into the intimate lives of strangers left a strong impression on him.
His goal is to use photography as a means to communicate effectively and accurately across borders in order to create bridges of understanding in an increasingly technologically interconnected world. He believes the power of the photograph can transcend language to shine a light of knowledge and inspiration into places where there was once only darkness.
Available for reportage and documentary assignments nationally and internationally. He is a member of the photo collective MJR and is based in Brooklyn, New York.
He is a contract photographer for The Wall Street Journal.
